Every child and young person deserves the right to safe and supportive living arrangements. At Thrive we offer care for children and young people needing a break from their carers, parents and family in our Ashtonfield home. These placements are called Specialised Substitute Residential Care and are available for a child or young person who need a short stay away from their parent(s) or carers. We work closely with the , parents, carers, the Department of Communities & Justice (DCJ) & designated agencies to provide therapeutic support at a time when it is most needed.
The Thrive team are available 24 hours 7 days a week to provide support and supervision to children and young people in a home-like environment.
Our staff use a strength-based framework and are trained in an shortened version of Therapeutic Crisis Care (TCI) of engagement to support and supervise those involved in an ACA at Thrive, utilising a consistent, reliable and professional care approach to focus on behavioural and emotional support, as well as overall health and wellbeing. For children and young people needing ACA in the Hunter region, Thrive can offer safe and supportive accommodation and care in our Ashtonfield House.
